Lead Female Protaganist "Yasmin"

Zia Zografos

Zia's roots are Greek and Turkish, and she has been immersed in dances of this region since birth. She has performed with the St. Sophia Greek Church folk dance group in Los Angeles and as a belly dance soloist across California. Specializing in Classic American cabaret belly dance, Zia is passionate about exploring diverse dance styles. She starred as Yasmin in the 2024 production of Seraglio and received many accolades for her performance.

Lead Male Antagonist "Faruk"

Matthew Willis

Matthew Willis has been performing on stage in various plays; musical theater shows as well as dance recitals for 22 years, starting at the age of 6. Matthew has played many roles, including MADEA and Aladdin. He specializes in several dance forms, but his main goal is to become a Broadway or film actor and dancer. His diverse talents were proven in his memorable performance as the villain Faruk in the 2024 production of Seraglio.

Evil Snake Charmer Belkazin

Arturo Casco

Arturo is a seasoned Oriental dancer and instructor with over 27 years of experience. He has performed at major belly dance events nationwide, including Rakkasah in Richmond, CA, and MECDA (The Middle Eastern Culture and Dance Association).

 

Arturo mesmerized the audience as the evil snake charmer Belkazin in the 2024 production of Seraglio.

Lead Male Protagonist  "Minos"

Gavin Martinez

Gavin performed Greek dance at St. Demetrios Church at the Greek Orthodox Folk Dance and Choral Festival from 2004-2017. He also dances at the Greek at the Harbor restaurant and the annual Ventura County Greek festival and has been a guest artist with the UCSB Middle East Ensemble. He starred as Minos in the 2024 production of Seraglio and stole the hearts of the audience with his dance and dramatic arts talent.

Lead Female Antagonist Aisha

Nilay Engin

Nilay, originally from Turkey, has trained with renowned dance teachers worldwide and specializes in Turkish belly dance.

 

Known for her captivating performances, she stole the show as Aisha in Seraglio in 2024. Nilay teaches in California and has won numerous awards, including Belly Dancer USA, Belly Dancer of the Universe Hall of Fame, and Folkloric Champion of Belly Dancer of the World.

Romani Street Dancers: Burcu, Aisha and Alara

Devilla, Nilay Engin and Lisa Marie Young

DeVilla, a renowned Los Angeles-based belly dancer and award-winning makeup artist and director of the Sekhmet Dance Company, is remembered  for her captivating role as Burcu in the 2024 production of Seraglio. 

Lisa Marie has been performing belly dance for 15 years at venues like Moun of Tunis and continuously expands her dance repertoire, including hip hop, Bollywood, and Persian. She was alluring as the Roma street dancer, Alara in the 2024 production of Seraglio.
